Those who once were lost,
but turn to the path of mindfulness,
shine upon this world
like the moon freed from clouds.
– Dhammapada 172
Most of us know what it is to lose our way: caught in busyness, worry, or habits of mind that cloud what is already clear. The Buddha taught that this isn't a permanent condition, that we can “turn to the path” of freedom at any time to experience true and lasting peace. The moon was never gone, only obscured.
Join us in-person or online as we begin the New Year with a day of silent practice, an invitation to incline the mind and heart towards the present moment. We’ll engage in periods of sitting and walking meditation, guided instruction, and a short talks on this verse. The day's silence is a supportive container for practice, and there will be time for rest, mindful eating, and questions at the close.
All levels of experience are welcome, from those new to meditation to long-time practitioners. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a cushion and padded mat if you prefer to sit on the floor. Chairs are provided.
Registration opens November 10th. REGISTER HERE.
